| When trying to send a console message through "My Servers" - "folder we created" - any user, the "send console Message fails. If we add a New folder under "My Servers" and then register a new server we are able to send the console message. If we create a new user under one of the old folders, the send console message will fail. We have had the product for a while and have upgraded it every time a new version has come out. Is there some setting that is being kept from the old version that we had? If there is, is there a way we can extract all the user information into a new folder, besides using the "copy to group" function? This does not work. Or is there a setting that we can change? Thanks, Mark

Mark, I confused about what your are describing. I'm not sure what you mean by saying "If we create a new user under one of the old folders". It's impossible to create any users under the VNC Manager's folders, so could you please clarify what do you mean?In most of the cases Send Console Message function fails when target computers have Messenger (don't confuse with MSN/Windows messenger application) stopped. So I advise you to check if the service is running. Should you continue experiencing the problem, could you please send us content of the VNC Manager configuration folder %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Smart Code\VNC\Manager\ and point out to which computers you can and cannot send console message.

| Sorry about that. If we "Register a New Server" and choose the Browse option for the "Server Address" and then choose a "Server" we are able to send the console message.. We do have the messenger service started on all machines. After working within VNC Manager, if we type in a "Server Address" we cannot send a console message. If we choose it from the "Browsing" we are able to. Is there any known reason for this? As when we "Register A New Server" and type in the "Server Address", it will recognize the Mac Address and allow "Wake on Lan" function to work. But we cannot "Send a Console Message". Any Ideas?

Mark, can you please do a simple test.Open cmd.exe and type: net.exe send ADDRESS_HERE "your message" Where the ADDRESS_HERE is any of addresses, to which the VNC Manager fails to send a message. Somehow I've a feeling that the net.exe will fail to the send the message either.

| Hi, Thanks for your help. I was able to use the command you gave and send the message from a command prompt.. I did find out that in the properties of the new server that I was regristering, I could not type in the name of that server. I had to browse for it and choose it. Once I did this I was able to use the send console message. Thanks again for all of your help.
