i am a satisfied vnc manager cusotmer, because it helped in managing many vnc installations, in a single point. But since I see so nice computer management features, like starting and restarting of services, or Wake up on lan, I wonder if I can use them in my scenario. I have only single windows xp professional or even home edition in my network, and they don't partecipate in a windows domain. Can I use remote computer management in this scenario and how? I always receive access denied to all these features, I did all the reccomended actions, like DCOM setting and so on.
Thanks in advance
Luca

Luca, all remote management features should work in case of remote XP Pro, but I'm not sure about home edition. In case of XP, most common cause for Access Denied errors is "Simplified File Sharing". DCOM misconfiguration can cause the error. But seems like you already saw this post: http://www.s-code.com/forum/FindPost746.aspx Also check that you have "Enable remote management" policy enabled: Start "gpedit.msc" snap-in. Navigate to Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Network->Network Connections->Windows Firewall->Domain/Standard Profile and enabled the following values: Allow Remote Administration Exception and Allow File and Printer Sharing Exception.
 Kindest Regards, SmartCode Solutions Support
