I Initated a deployment process to migrate a group of machines from Tight VNC 1.3.9 to Smartcode dist. 1.3.10. I subsequently got calls from users at the target office that their machines were restarting. When manually installing TightVNC 1.3.10, it's not necessary to restart the machine. Is there a way to specify that a machine not be restarted during the deployment process?

Normally VNC install/uninstall doesn't require restart. The only exception is UltraVNC with the Graphics driver; the graphics driver uninstall requires computer restart. Native TightVNC to SmartCode TightVNC migration should not require restart, unless the files used by Native TightVNC we locked and couldn't be overwritten by SmartCode TightVNC installer. Actually from what I know our MSI packages do not restart computer even if restart is required. It's certainly the case with our UltraVNC MSI setup. I'll have to double check if our TightVNC MSI installer works the same way.
