We have 10 users all accessing the same Computer and setttng list. When an amend is made in order for the setting not to be lost do we have to have the Monitor registered computers list file changes ticked so that everyone gets a notification of the amend and they can reload the settings or is there a way the settings can update silently?

Hi,
I cannot test it right now but try to uncheck the following checkbox: Tools->Options->Advanced->Show "Confirm replace file list" message box.

Thank you for your response.

When I tick the box it does not seem to make a difference. I’ll try to explain the issue in more detail.

Is it possible for all the 10 users of SmartCode to be logged in and making amends at the same time without notifications of updates or losing settings saving over the top of the settings file?

It appears that each users SmartCode loads the settings/computer files and stores it locally, when the save any changes it apples the change to the shared network drive. When the next person makes a change the it applies the change but not having loaded the change made by the other user earlier and saving over the changes made.

We avoid this by enabling the notification of changes to the file so when a change is made by someone everyone else gets a notification to reload the settings so they do not wipe out any changes while making amends themselves.

I’ll explain the problem in full.

We have 10 users accessing the same computer list which is updated by all. The problem we appear to have had is that when an amend is made by one of the users it is saved to the network location only to be over written by someone else when they make a change.

The only way we seem to avoid this is to ensure that Monitor registered computers list file changes is ticked on all computers so that all users are prompted to update the list once a change is made.

It would be really useful if the changes would automatically push out to all the users without the confirmation and also avoiding the settings being overwritten.
