I've been trialing VNC Manager for a few days and really like it and find it useful.  I'll be purchasing it.

There are a few usability problems that I would like to address:

1) From Computer Manager or Thumbnail view, I would like to be able to Connect to a VNC server in a Window, rather than a Tab.

2) If I have a server open in a Tab, I would like to see a small <x> to close it next to the computer name, just like in Internet Explorer.

3) From a Server Tab, It takes way too much mouse movement to get back to a Thumbnail view.  How about putting the Thumbnail View Tab next to Computer Manager, rather than at the bottom of the screen.  Also a hotkey to the Thumbnail view.

4) When I have a VNC tab, named XYZ, and make it a seperate window, then make it a tab, the tab name changes to the IP address.

Thanks for listening, I may have more later!

1) From Computer Manager or Thumbnail view, I would like to be able to Connect to a VNC server in a Window, rather than a Tab.

This behaviour can be setup in the options dialog. Please take a look at: Tools->Options->VNC/RDP/VMRC Options->Viewer sessions opens as.

2) If I have a server open in a Tab, I would like to see a small <x> to close it next to the computer name, just like in Internet Explorer.

We would like to have this (X) button too Smile The problem is that Infragistics GUI toolkit that we use doesn't have such feature. But fortunately for us, the GUI toolkit offers great deal of customization support, so very soon we will be researching possibility of adding (X) button one way or another. I'm pretty confident that sooner or later this feature is going to be implemented.

3) From a Server Tab, It takes way too much mouse movement to get back to a Thumbnail view.  How about putting the Thumbnail View Tab next to Computer Manager, rather than at the bottom of the screen.  Also a hotkey to the Thumbnail view.

I think this is a good idea. Most probably this could be implemented as an option, so users could decide for themselves when the Thumbnail View Tab would be located.

4) When I have a VNC tab, named XYZ, and make it a seperate window, then make it a tab, the tab name changes to the IP address.

Thanks! I was able to reproduce the bug. It seems to affect VNC connections but not RDP. It will be fixed in the next build.

Thanks for listening, I may have more later!

Thanks for sending this post Wink

Running on Vista, if you take the focus off of a RDP session (say going to another window) often times you cannot select to get back into the remote window. Rather, you get a windows error "ding" letting you know you can't do that.
