We have updated the third-party SSH library to the latest Release Candadate build and seems to be working fine under Vista RC2.

VNC Manager v3.5.24.1 published today is compatible with Vista RC2.

Last release works fine on VISTA RC2 x86. I am going to test Vista RC2 x64 this week. Lets see what else I find. Also please check the RDP connection properties for the Experience Tab. Even I uncheck the options to increase the performance, Nothing really changed. I think this problem did exist on Windows XP as well {Trying to say it is not just VISTA Smile }

I just tested it and now I'm wondering how nobody noticed it Smile I guess this feature was broken for one and a half year at least. Blush The think is that the VNC Manager sets the Performance settings in inverse order. For example, if in the properties dialog you have tuned Full Window Drag On, when you try to establish an RDP connection, the VNC Manager will send this option turned Off and vice versa.

The bug this been fixed. Thanks for your support Smile

I installed last build. It looks problems are gone. I am very happy with the end result. Thanks for all the hard work. I wonder if you can get a feature like this since Vista has more resolution options : Can you let RDP resolution to be set to a custom value so we can set better resolution options for Wide Screens. I use 23  inch Apple and 30Inc Apple monitors and I want to have a custom wide screen option on RDP.

Thanks

Have you looked at the RDP properties of a registered computer in the 3.5.25.0 build? You will be very pleased with what you will see. Wink

I am running Windows Vista RTM Business Edition on both server side and client of SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition. I was able to successfully install UltraVNC through SmartCode VNC Manager Enterprise Edition. When I start a VNC connection I can access the Vista client but the screen in blank and I have no control over the client. I used the same VNC configuration on a Windows XP (SP2) and it works fine.

Please advise,

Niles

Most probably there is a problem with UltraVNC server running on Vista. Have you tried to deploy RealVNC? It seems that RealVNC server is more Vista-friendly.

On RealVNC's web site it does state Vista as a support operating system, but only in the Personal and Enterprise Edition.

At this point it's pretty much confermed that none of the free VNC's work under Vista. I haven't tried RealVNC Ent. Ed. yet, but I've my doubts about how well it works under Vista.

By the way, we are preparing the VNC Manager (Ent. Ed.) for Certified for Windows Vista logo certification. Build 3.6.14.0 seems to be passing all the tests without any problems and we will be gearing toward the certification as soon as the v3.6 gets released.
