First of all we don't have Macs around. Does anyone willing to donate one?;) Secondly according to a post in this thread http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=457699
Apple Remote Desktop provides support for native VNC clients. So basically it means that the VNC Manager is compatible with ARD on the basic screensharing level.

RE: OS-X vnc support

What is the status of this are you going to develop this feature in the future?

RE: OS-X vnc support

http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/

RE: OS-X vnc support

Support for this VNC...
http://www.redstonesoftware.com/vnc.html
Since Mac is comming up in the world after Intel teamed up with them..

RE: OS-X vnc support

Remote Install only works on Microsoft Clients.

RE: OS-X vnc support

It would be great to add this to the install Wizzard..

If and when you guys support it..

RE: OS-X vnc support

Thanks alot Jon. I'll take one of the old macs and set up a guest account. I'll PM you guys when set up to get your IP address. We would appreciate if somebody could provide a MacOS VNC server for testing purposes. Not for long, a week would be enough.

RE: OS-X vnc support

Hey JonGretar,

I am sure if you create a dummy apple login for smartcode they could test this out for you and work with you on this so to support it for the future..

RE: OS-X vnc support

TightVNC displays uncompatable version and RealVNC gives "No matching security types".
This is propably related to the Remote Desktop 2 product of theirs. Since we don't have any Macs around it's hard for us to test it ourself.
We will try to check on OS-X implementation difference. Meanwhile, could you please confirm if native windows (Tight/Real) VNC viewer can connect to OS-X server?

OS-X vnc support

Since I'm giving out request here. How about VNC support for the MacOs X vnc server. As I understand it the protocol is standard VNC it's just different authentication method. The VNC manager finds the servers but it just doesn't authenticate. Shouldn't be to big of a deal if the info is somewhere in http://developer.apple.com/. Or just asking Apple.
