Please send email to support@s-code.com with your contact information.

Deployment packages

I have an idea that I need help with.

1. I need to be able to create a deployment package that a user can simply double click on and it will automatically install VNC on their desktop with pre-configured settings - including a preconfigured passwod. The package should NOT start the server as a service, but should start immediately following the completed installation.

2. The package will be downloadable from a password protected website. (We don't want to leave the package out in the wind because someone could download it, install it, and retrieve the password, right?

3. Each of our support terminals are running VNC Listener on TCP 5500.

4. I have opened 5500, 5501, 5502, 5503, ... on our firewall and configured each unique port to forward to port 5500 on each of our support terminals.

[EXTERNAL IP]:5800 --> [SUPPORT TERMINAL 1]:5800

[EXTERNAL IP]:5801 --> [SUPPORT TERMINAL 2]:5800

[EXTERNAL IP]:5802 --> [SUPPORT TERMINAL 3]:5800

The idea is to provide instant support to new and existing customers in two easy steps.

1. Download and install VNC package from password protected website.

2. Right click on the VNC icon and choose "Add New Client", type in [EXTERNAL IP] and connect!

The part I need help with is the deployment package. How do I go about building a deployment package with a default password, default configuration settings (like 8-bit), and have the application start immediately?

Thanks,

Doug
