Hi,

I want to implement an application sharing capability in a collaboratif tool and I think about using your product. So I want to know if we can share only a single application not entire desktop. If yes how we can do it?

An other question: Is it possible to manage control? ( allowing the control to a certain client)

Tank you in advance

Samir

Current v1.0 doesn't support single window sharing. This feature is planned for the next v1.5 release, which is going to be available in October.

Hi,
for single window support, is there any resource available to read up about how its done?
I am doing a research for school.
Thanks!

Actually the server side implementation of "single window" is very simple. Instead of broadcasting screen updates of the whole desktop VNC server just broadcasting updates related to a single window only (the window is identified by its HWND handle).

About single application sharing:

you responded:

We are almost at the end january right now. When is this next release planned ?

Will it have the possibilities of sharing more than 1 window ?   Since 1 application can have multiple (popup,..) windows.

Thanks.

Marc,
at the moment HTTP/SOCKS5 proxies support for AddNewClient method is being implemented. This should be completed and a new build released within next few days.

As for today I cannot say for sure when Single Window support will be ready. But when it released it will work as any other VNC server with single window desktop: it will be broadcasting part of the screen occupied by a window. If the window would open an additional window and it'd be located outside the main window rectangle, this new window won't be visible. This is just by design on the single window feature and there is nothing can be done about it.

As today is implemented the feature to share one single window or screen area? If yes can you give us an example?

This missing feature is holdding me to purchase the controls.

Thanks,

Ovidiu
