I am testing VNC Manager, and, so far, I am very enthusiastic. I also am evaluating UltraVNC, for its NT login control, and read that VNC Manager supports it. The questions are:
1. VNC Manager supports it, if UltraVNC is already installed on the server machine, right?
2. Do you plan to support UltraVNC installation/configuration through VNC Manager? If yes, when?
3. I've read some things about version 3.0; When will it be released?

Sorry for the questions, but it would be important to have the answers in order to correctly evaluate your product.

Thank you in advance.

1. That's is correct. At the moment VNC Manager support the following UltraVNCs features: chat, file transfer, NTLM login, and Repeater proxy

2. UltraVNC deployment support is going to be included in v3.0

3. We are trying to do our best to release it with 1.5-2 months. If you purchase v2.5 now, you will receive an upgrade to v3.0 free of charge. Since each license includes one year of free upgrades.

On a similar topic, will NTLM authentication be enabled in the standard version of VNC Manager any time soon? I ask because I want to deploy UltraVNC to machines on my school network and I want teachers to be able to connect to it using their domain credentials. However I don't want to put the Enterprise version of VNC Manager on all their laptops as its too powerful and the potential for abuse is too high. If you don't want to put that into the standard edition, would it be possible to commission a custom version of VNC Manager with the features of Standard + U-VNC NTLM Authentication?

Cheers,

Norphy

Norphy,
no we have no plans to add NTLM auth. to the Standard Ed. And yes we can create a custom build for you. Please send email to support@s-code.com so we could discuss it off the forum.
